Hello, My Name is Jax

Hi!  My name is Jax.  I am a 3 year old Yellow Nape Amazon. Welcome to my site.  Here you will find many pictures of me and my friends as well as some video of the goofy things I do to make my humans laugh.

Where am I From?

Well - I was hatched in a city called Baltimore, MD.  My parents are from there as well.  I was told however that my Grand mom and Grand pop were from a place called Honduras.  I have never been there but I am told it is really big. There are many countries that my elder family members would fly to.  My parents told me it was their "range".  From South America all the way up to Southern Mexico!  Wow - that is a LOT of flying! I have included a map link so you can see where the elders were from. Click here for the map.

I have a few friends who have told me about the "wild".  They were captured by humans many years ago, but they are from other parts of the world.  The wild sounds like a pretty scary place from what they have told me.  Back in those days their flock's biggest concern in the wild was food (I can not imagine being concerned about food! It is so plentiful!) and something called a predator.  There always had to be a member of the flock looking in all directions.  Apparently these predators can come from the sky, from the water, from the land!  Yikes!  I told my old buddy that I think I know what he is talking about.  But in my home we call the predator "The Cat".  I can't say that I have ever seen her come from the sky or the water though. My friends have been here in the United States with their humans now for over 30 years so maybe they forget some of the important details about this place they call "the wild"...
